Electrosoft is proud to announce its entry into the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) Business Development program. This is a nine-year business assistance program designed to enable small, disadvantaged businesses to better compete in the federal marketplace.
As a participant of the 8(a) program, Electrosoft can receive “sole-source” federal contracts, up to a ceiling of $4M for goods and services. These contracts do not have to go through the normal competitive acquisition process – instead, the contract terms can negotiated between Electrosoft and the federal agency. The 8(a) designation also enables Electrosoft to bid on federal opportunities that are set-aside for 8(a) businesses; and form 8(a) joint ventures to bid on larger federal contracts.
“Attaining the 8(a) status was a lengthy process that included rigorous reviews of various aspects of our business,” said Dr. Sarbari Gupta, Electrosoft President and CEO. “For over a decade, Electrosoft has been serving a diverse customer base and delivering a comprehensive set of technology-based solutions and services. Achieving 8(a) certification at this point in our history offers the potential for significant growth over the next few years. We look forward to new opportunities to serve our federal customers in meeting their needs and achieving their mission,” Dr. Gupta added.
