Electrosoft CEO, Dr. Sarbari Gupta, delivered the commencement address for leading STEM educator Capitol Technology University’s class of 2020. The Oct. 9 ceremony honored last year’s graduating class, whose commencement ceremony was postponed from May 2020 due to COVID-19.

“There is high demand for technology professionals, especially cybersecurity engineers and analysts,” said Dr. Gupta. “I’m pleased and honored to address the Capitol Technology University class of 2020, whose choice to explore the technology field is a welcomed boost to the industry.”

The commencement caps a summer of collaboration with Capitol Technology University. Recently, Dr. Gupta appeared as a featured guest on the Cap Tech Podcast with President Sims of Capitol Technology University, where she discussed the role of higher education in preparing students for real-world technology work, especially cybersecurity. She emphasized the combined value of education, experience and certifications for those entering the technology field – as well as both technology and soft skills.

“For any technology job, technology skills are just one element,” commented Dr. Gupta. “It’s just as important for young professionals to have the confidence to collaboratively solve problems and to be able to articulate the solutions they have in mind.”

In July, Electrosoft and Capitol Technology University co-hosted a two-hour virtual Cybersecurity Summit, “The Ransomware and Malware Conundrum,” featuring cybersecurity thought leaders and practitioners from government, academia and industry.
