Electrosoft to Implement PIV Card-based Authentication for Agency Watchdog August 22, 2018

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) within an independent federal agency has awarded Electrosoft a 12-month prime contract to implement Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card–based authentication to control staff access to the agency’s networks and applications. A PIV Card is a standardized smart card credential that identifies and authenticates a federal employee or contractor, serves as the basis for access to federal facilities and information systems and assures appropriate levels of security for all applicable federal applications. Electrosoft’s solution, which will include enterprise end-to-end identity management, will fully comply with FIPS 201, NIST supporting special publications and all applicable HSPD-12 and PIV federal standards.

This highly technical and complex effort will institute granular access control over agency data not just in headquarters but also across the OIG’s field offices and the many mobile devices its 2,400-member staff employ. Electrosoft is excited to undertake this full lifecycle implementation effort and demonstrate its expertise in this critical area.
