The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) issued a draft version of Internal Report (NISTIR) 8204 for comment in May 2018. Titled Cybersecurity Framework Online Informative References (OLIR) Submissions, the document provides instructions and definitions for completing the Cybersecurity Framework OLIR spreadsheet template. The template approach seeks to enhance readability of the Cybersecurity Framework document by presenting a variety of references in an online forum. In so doing, users gain access to more reference documents and their specific relationship to the Cybersecurity Framework.

Electrosoft is proud to share that our own Vince Johnson, Security Specialist, was one of six individuals acknowledged by name by the authors of NIST Internal Report 8204 “for sharing their excellent thoughts and guiding the concepts and prose of this report.” Electrosoft has a long history of sharing its expertise in the cybersecurity space by contributing to NIST’s special reports, standards, guidelines and other documentation. Kudos to Vince on this accomplishment!
