On Friday, October 18, 2019, Sarbari Gupta returned to her alma mater as a guest lecturer in the Fall IEEE Leadership Seminar Series. Sponsored by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, this lunchtime program serves to expose future engineers to advanced topics presented by professionals currently working in the field.
Sarbari presented “Next-Generation Identity Assurance for Mobile Environments” to the gathered graduate and undergraduate students. She explained how today’s mobile computing platforms can be leveraged as innovative authentication platforms because they offer biometric and context-related sensors that can authenticate the device user in a manner that outpaces even three-factor approaches.
